Manitoba Pubic Insurance (MPI) Vehicle Accident Injury Claim

MPI Injury Claims We Can Help You With

Car accidents can result in a wide range of injuries, varying in severity based on factors such as the type of collision, speed of impact, the use of safety equipment like helmets and seatbelts, and the overall health of the individuals involved. The healthcare professionals at Creating Health, can provide assistance and treatment for these injuries. Here are some common car accident injuries we can help you or a loved one with:

  1. Whiplash
Whiplash is a common injury in rear-end collisions. It involves a sudden jerking motion of the head and neck, causing strain on the soft tissues and muscles in the neck. It can lead to symptoms, including neck pain, stiffness, headaches, and sometimes even cognitive or emotional disturbances. Therapy for whiplash typically involves a combination of medical, physical, and sometimes psychological interventions.

  2. Broken Bones
Car accidents can cause fractures in various bones, including arms, legs, ribs, pelvis, and facial bones. The impact can be strong enough to cause these bones to break upon impact with the interior of the vehicle or other objects. While we can’t help set and fix the broken bone(s), can help in your broken bone physical rehabilitation and get you moving again.

  3. Soft Tissue Injuries
These include strains, sprains, and bruises to muscles, ligaments, and tendons. These injuries can cause pain and limit mobility. Improving your mobility once you have been diagnosed and are ready for rehab may include a combination of chiropractic, massage and physiotherapy techniques, all of which we can coordinate and offer under one roof.

  4. Psychological Injuries
A car accident can lead to emotional trauma, anxiety, and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for some individuals. Seeking the help of a clinical psychologist Dr. Sarah Chaulk can be beneficial in addressing these psychological challenges and working towards regaining mental health and wellness.

It's important to emphasize that seeking prompt medical attention after a car accident is crucial, even if injuries seem minor initially. Some injuries might not show immediate symptoms and could worsen over time if left untreated. Always follow the advice of medical professionals and take steps to ensure your safety and well-being after an accident.

What is MPI’s Personal Injury Protection Plan?

The Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) had a program called the "Personal Injury Protection Plan" (PIPP), which provides coverage for medical expenses, income replacement, and rehabilitation services to Manitobans injured in automobile accidents, regardless of fault. According to MPI (August, 2023):

  • Coverage extends to all Manitoba residents injured in automobile accidents anywhere in Canada or the United States.

  • Compensation focuses on specific economic losses from an auto injury or death, with few limits or restrictions.

  • Compensation is guaranteed for all injured people, regardless of who was at fault for the accident.

Process for Making a Bodily Injury Claim & Seeking Coverage for Physical Therapy Treatment
